Saved a Rachel

Tue Nov 10, 2009, 9:51 PM
Finally made up my mind to post the story. Wasn't sure if mattered.

Okay, last Friday was my third blood donation. My blood person was very inexperienced (she told me so) so it was very painful this time. It actually should be painless but yeah... My blood came out in 7 minutes. Last time it was about 10, and the first time I don't know but I think it was longer. I wasn't underhydrated, my person refused to listen to me much and the needle didn't go in correctly and I had to convience her to shift it twice but she wasn't "backing off the needle" enough because it kept sliding and sucking against the side of the vein. Agony.
I didn't like her attitude and she was making a lot of mistakes. I was untouchably happy off the euphoria of getting to be harvested so it didn't bother me too much even if she was telling me that my blood might squirt all over me, she put the needle in wrong, she didn't tell me that it wasn't safe to look yet and I saw the huge needle sticking out of my arm (that's the only thing I can't handle, I still have a needle phobia to a certain degree even though my first donating nearly cured it because my person was excellent and made it the painless experience that it's always suppose to be like.) and she was deflecting suggestions to shift the needle because of personal ego. Oh well, you never know who you are gonna get or what's gonna happen.

The girl sitting next to me at the refreshment table passed out so I helped her and got help from the blood people. She went forward into the table and then started falling backwards to the floor and I caught her and took her safely to the floor, got the attention of the blood people, and they took over and got her conscience again. Then the other two girls on either side of us felt unwell and they needed to be on the floor too. With details it's a pretty story but I'll spare you. The girl was very grateful, the man called me a heroine and the blood lady said I could be a paramedic or a nurse. I'm just glad that the girl was alright after she got the help she needed. Some bastard that I that classes with last year was yelling at me while I was catching the girl and preventing her from smacking her head into the floor of the small gym (which is a very hard surface). I ignored him because he always yells mean shit at people and he obivously can't read a situation. Besides I needed to alert the BloodSource personnel and get this girl conscience again as quickly as possible. They took way too long to react. Way too long. They weren't any paying any attention. The man who was watching us was zoning out and he took forever to alert so I actually ended up yelling: "HEY!" towards the blood people. Their response time was way too slow. Hell, I've seen them run to the aid of people when they have needed help during previous blood drives. They were just way to slow this time. I could have done the whole damn thing by myself by the time the man finally got to our side of the table.

I went to the football game and I'll see the school play later hopefully.
I'm bogged down with a lot of school work. Because of the day off, teachers piled on a shitload of homework to do and I've been given big projects yeterday that are due next week... Well, that's school.
I'm doing my Senior Portraits tomorrow and hopefully I'll get to do something nice besides a shitload of homework.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Peace to you all.

Ooh ooh, if you liked that song I had you listen to yesterday, and if I can't find you/forget to show you some other songs today, here's some I think you'll like:
Leper Messiah
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Fade to Black
The Four Horsemen

and solo wise, I think these are amazing:
Disposable Heroes
Ride the Lightning <<<Amazing 1:34 second solo

or if you like instrumentals, I'd recommend Orion (my personal favorite song by Metallica...might be a bit slow though)

Yes. I don't expect you to listen to all these songs though.

You can send me some songs you want me to listen to too. :D

I've learned that "the Way, the Truth, the Life" is making Jesus the Road to Heaven, but everyone has a different way of walking on that road. Some walk, some dance, some skip, some hop, some run, but they're all going the same place.
